The law of the Wild was that the strong survived, and the weak perished. And White Fang, being of the strong, survived.

Pain itself is love, pain is the main storage of pain, but sometimes you may need to take advantage of it. Who has no right to be called by labor and pain? But we accuse the righteous, who are softened by the flattery of the present moment, and are blinded to foresee the trouble that comes from it. For who of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But at times great pains occur due to circumstances that bring pleasure. To reject pleasure is to avoid pain and consequences.
